ANTHONY JOHN BURGER: Steinway Artist, Artist Of The Century. Born June 5, 1961; Left This Ole World To Be With Our LORD & SAVIOR February 22, 2006.

My name is LaVerne Grant. My wife, Glenda, & I are Gospel Music promoters. In our travels called "Down The Gospel Music Road" we have made many friends. Anthony Burger was one of those friends. On February 2nd. 2006, we had the TRIO, which was Anthony, Shane Dunlap & Kirk Talley in Tyler, TX. There were people there that had not seen Anthony in person, and he just litterly blowed them away. It was the most wonderful concert. Little did we know that it would be the LAST time the TRIO with Anthony would ever perform in this old world. That was on the 2nd of Feb. '06. He had one or two more concerts in the area before he would wind up with Bill & Gloria in Dallas for the HomeComing Friends Concerts on Feb. 10 & 11, 2006. Glenda & I attended all of those concerts. We sat not far from Anthony's work place on the stage. We visited with him and LuAnn and discussed the concert in Tyler that we had just finished. We asked how Lori was, and LuAnn said she was scheduled to have her tonsils removed shortly after this upcoming cruise in the Bahamas. On Saturday night, Feb. 11, we finished up the concerts in Dallas and wished Anthony & LuAnn well and we would see them down the road, not EVER dreaming that would be the LAST time we would be able to visit here on this earth. Anthony Burger was a quiet man. The other artists may laugh when I say that. He was a true spirit...he LIVED the walk. He loved his LORD & SAVIOR, and his spirit bled through the tips of his fingers to that keyboard. Anthony Burger has done things for people that most of us ordinary folk don't know. I personally have witnessed his giving spirit to churches if they needed something. To individuals, which identified him as a child of the KING. Anthony Burger was one of the best evangelists for our SAVIOR that we will rub shoulders with in a long time. For the time the LORD gave Glenda & me to be in the presence of Anthony Burger, we give thanks. To LuAnn, we out here in the nation mourn the passing of one of the best musicians, artists, evangelists, Christians, husbands, fathers. We say thank you and our prayers are with you & Lori & the boys. Anthony is tuning up already. WE KNOW WHERE HE IS.
