Steve Bridgmon’s debut single Angels By Another Name Hits #1!
The first time Steve heard the demo for Angels By Another Name, he knew this song was something special. It resonates with so many people because we’ve all had someone in our lives who has been there when we needed them. This song is for the ones who had an angel by another name drop into their life at just the right time. No only has the song been #1 for the month of May on HLE Radio, but it rose to the top of the SGN Scoops Christian Country Chart for June 2017.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Gospel Music Hall of Fame Inductee and multi-award winning pianist Jeff Stice is releasing his first project on Daywind Instrumental. The new project, aptly titled I’m Gonna Keep On, is a tribute to legendary songwriter and Gospel music icon Andrae Crouch.
Jeff Stice said, “This is my first Daywind project and I’m speechless. What a project to begin with – the Songs of Andrae Crouch. It’s so apparent in the lyrics that he wrote, that Andrae Crouch had lived each word. He had the voice of experience! For the past three years of my life, I’ve gotten to know my Heavenly Father in an entirely new way. He loves me. I’ve learned that the more I truly depend on Him, the more He overwhelms me with His presence. All of these songs have made me realize that Andrae Crouch knew God in that same way. One song after the other, they all speak to me.”
I’m Gonna Keep On releases nationwide through Daywind Instrumental/New Day Christian Distributors on Friday, June 2, 2017. It will also be on Jeff’s website at http://jeffsticemusic.com and at http://www.lifeway.com the first week of June.
Jeff continued,”I urge you as you listen to pull up the lyrics to each of these songs and follow along. Not only are they incredible, but the melodies to each are so original, heartfelt and fun. I’m honored that Daywind Records sees value in what I do as a soloist. To think that they see me as an artist is mind boggling. I look forward to our journey together.”
I’m Gonna Keep On
1. I’m Gonna Keep On Singing
2. Soon And Very Soon
3. I Don’t Know Why
4. Can’t Nobody Do Me Like Jesus
5. The Blood Will Never Lose It’s Power
6. It Won’t Be Long
7. Bless The Lord
8. Through It All
9. My Tribute
10.I’ve Got Confidence

2017 May SGNScoops Editor’s Last Word By Lorraine Walker
It’s May and with this fifth edition of SGNScoops for 2017, I hope you will find a feature, an article, or even just a photograph, that is educational, entertaining or encouraging. We look for stories that will be intriguing to you and we believe we have included many this month.
A special thanks to Dean Hopper for sharing with Craig Harris the difficulties of his health scare recently. There has been so much written about this special family over the years and we hope you enjoyed this feature. Please remember to keep them all in your prayers.
We appreciate all of our writers and staff here at Scoops, and they have all performed beyond expectations this month. These ladies and gentlemen do what they do because they believe they are making a difference. I believe they are as well.
As I look out into our backyard and see all the flowers that are now in bloom, I see what a difference they make to a rather dull scene. Color and fragrance attract bees and birds, enlivening the yard and our street. I’m so glad everything is flourishing in the warmth and moisture of spring.
It occurred to me that our team here at SGNScoops are also blooming where they are planted. Have you considered where you are in your work, your home life, your hobbies? Are you changing your landscape with the scent and beauty that is Jesus in your life?
Perhaps you are finding things so difficult right now that your spiritual life feels dry and barren. The Bible uses water as an image of the Holy Spirit and His power in our lives to bring life. Let Him wash over you today and quench your thirst, moisten your heart so that your relationship with the Lord will grow afresh. Then not only will you feel rebirth in all areas of your life, but others will catch the color and fragrance of Jesus and seeds will be planted in their hearts.
If you feel you have talents that are lying dormant in your life in the area of writing or other skills you think you might be able to utilize here at SGNScoops, please let me know. We are always looking for fresh ideas and volunteers to enrich our publication. Write me today with any comments, questions or suggestions at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Tim Bates of The Bates Family gospel group sends us this testimony:
Tim Bates accidentally shot himself in the chest when he was four years old.The bullet severed an artery in his heart in two, powder burned his lungs and damaged his voice box. The doctors said that if he lived through it, he would never talk above a whisper.
Today, Tim is regarded as having one of the strongest voices in gospel music and has also been recognized as a gifted songwriter, having the opportunity to write with some of America’s most talented writers, and having the privilege of some of today’s gospel music artists record his material. He also does BGV(back ground vocal) work at the local recording facility close to his hometown.
Tim is also an evangelist, holding conferences throughout the year, along with their extensive touring schedule.
The Bates Family will be appearing at Creekside Gospel Music Convention 2017, from October 30 – November 2 at the Smoky Mountain Resort Center, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Special guests also include the Nelons, David Ring, Mark209, Pat Barker and more. Tickets are free but must be reserved. Visit the website for more information.

Not too long ago we were praying for Karen Connell for a Liver.
Karen’s Post tonight:
Please pray for our sweet friend, Nikki Ellison. She got the call saying they have a liver for her. Hopefully, she will be having surgery in a few hours. Having been in her shoes, I know how scary, exciting, emotional and overwhelming this is. Please keep Nikki, her husband, Paul, and the rest of the family in your prayers. Remember the donor family as well. Nikki’s gift means a new normal for another family. Dear Lord, please be with Nikki as she faces this surgery. Be with the surgeons and guide their hands. Please bring peace and comfort to the grieving family of the donor. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
We at SGN Scoops are praying with you Karen for Nikki!

As we remember the ones who have sacrificed for our freedom, Take a listen to
Somebody Died For Me
He was a troubled kid in and out of jail
When his daddy said this is the last time I’ll pay bail
He enlisted in the army and they sent him to Iraq
He was a different man when he came back
Somebody said the army must’ve whipped you into shape
But he said that’s not the reason that I’ve changed
Somebody died for me (before I even asked for help)
Gave his life for me (when I couldn’t save myself)
I cannot live the way I lived or be the way I was
Every day’s a gift to me because (somebody died for me)
Now they fold the flag and attach a silver star
While the grieving mother leans against his arm
Then he stands before the family and does his best to tell
How he survived the night his best friend fell
He says no one who knew him was surprised he died that way
He tried to live for Jesus oh he always used to say
And I don’t wanna waste a moment
Of the time I have left
With every breath I’m given
God help me not forget
“Somebody Died For Me” was written by Christy Sutherland and Kyle Matthews, recorded by Triumphant Quartet in 2009 on their album Everyday.
